The Hierophant
Definition:
Seek elders or teachers for support, examine your beliefs, and consult your inner teachers.

we all worship something
whether we admit it or not
you can’t live this life without belief
some believe in astrology
some in jesus
some in science
choose your beliefs carefully
they determine your reality
as well as those you follow
some elders are wise
some just got older
it’s not so easy to tell the difference
Invitation:
The Hierophant is a spiritual leader. Unlike the High Priestess who retreats from the world, the Hierophant does their work in public. Sometimes this card can indicate that you could benefit from seeking a teacher or guide for support. But often I find it is more of an internal process. Many of our beliefs come from things we were taught as a child and can go unexamined in adulthood. The Hierophant calls us to review what elders have taught us and decide if those beliefs still apply.
To engage with the energy of the Hierophant you could try…
Meditate on your inner teacher: When you are in a moment when you need advice and support, it sometimes is useful to do a visualization meditation where you imagine meeting your inner teacher. This person could be religious figure (e.g. Jesus) or a supportive teacher from your life or even an imaginary figure. It’s whatever resonates with you as someone wise. Ask this figure about your issue and listen to their answer. Thank them for their help and close the meditation.
Seek teachers or guides for support: Buy a book on a topic you’ve been curious to learn more about. Take a class with a teacher who has interested you. Search for podcasts that might resonate with you. There are many ways to find support and seek wisdom. Allow yourself to explore that.
