The Chariot

Definition:

Move forward out of something that is no longer worker, break out of old patterns into something new, and take action toward your heart’s longing .

Poem:

You have fought for these riches.

Adorned and proud, you stand tall.

The crowd’s cheers rise around you.

A path of success stands before you.

And yet, happiness eludes you.

You fidget in your resplendent armor.

Your chariot once a throne has turned into a cage.

Your soul whispers that it’s time to set out on a new adventure.

But your mind panics at the possibility of losing all you’ve gained.

Pulled between these two forces, you are paralyzed with indecision.

Do you have the courage to trust in your soul’s unfolding?

Invitation:

The Chariot invites action and asks you to break out of stagnation. If you are asking about starting a business or project, this card is a definite positive omen. It can also come up when we’re being called into a deeper transformative process where we need to shed an old identity and become someone new. It says that we can celebrate what we’ve accomplished, but we can’t get stuck there. The soul longs to grow.

If you want to work with the energy of the Chariot, you can try…

  • Do a challenging exercise routine: There is a great sense of accomplishment we feel when we push ourselves outside our limits and make it through. Whether it's taking a boxing class, going on a challenging hike, or adding some short sprints to your walk, take the opportunity to push yourself a bit further than you normally go. Seeing your determination in one area of life can help you translate that to others.

  • Journal Prompt: Think about what you want to experience in the next 6 months. Write down your thoughts and feelings about the Chariot, and consider how its energy can help you move forward in your life.
