Piran was a damn paradise

After Ljubljana, I spent four days in an Airbnb in Piran, which sits on the 40 km of Slovenian coastline between Italy and Croatia. The town was under Venetian rule for hundreds of years of its history and so you can definitely feel an Italian influence. I spent most of my days sleeping in, swimming in the Adriatic sea, and walking around the town. While the beaches were rocky, the water was the perfect temperature. I could have floated there for hours. It didn’t hurt that Piran faced west so I could catch the sunset each evening. Sometimes travel isn’t about what you do or see, but how a place makes you feel. Piran gave me such a sense of ease and delight.

And because I was in such a good mood there, it’s hard to know if my memory of it is objective. But I suppose a blog is just me sharing about my experience, and in that sense it’s true.
